THE POSITIVE IMPACT YOUTH CLUBS HAVE ON YOUNG PEOPLE LIVES.
To better understand the positive impact of youth clubs I work in, I asked 66 young people aged between 12-16 how they felt their life had improved since coming to youth club. Here's what they said plus the actionable steps we will take to further build on these outcomes in the future
Social Life
17 young people (25.76%) stated that they experienced Social Life improvements indicating the following insights
1.As a result of youth club involvement there is a positive effect on participants' social interactions
2.Youth clubs play a crucial role in expanding social circles.
3. Youth clubs are successful social integration programs
ACTIONS
Ensure young people enter into an environment which normalises collaboration boosts engagement and has opportunities to form new relationships.
Maturity
5 young people (7.58%) stated that they felt a higher level of maturity since coming to youth club indicating the following insight
1. Maturity enhancement is aided through personal development young people experience mixing with older age groups,
trusted adults and responsibility.
ACTIONS
Delivering more targeted activities focusing on leadership and responsibility that will enhance young people's personal growth.
New Skills
19 young people (28.79%) stated they had learnt New Skills via a mix of activities, education and support from youth workers since coming to youth club indicating the following insight
1. The activities at youth club are extremely effective in skill development.
ACTIONS
Future planning to reflect a strong focus on new skill-building activities within the club. Create well-structured new skill-building activities aligned with members' expectations and goals.
Fitness
11 young people (16.67%) stated that they improved their fitness since coming to youth club and taking part in physical activity indicating the following insights
1.We have fostered fitness and physical health-related habits among attendees.
2.There is a positive engagement in physical activities.
ACTIONS
Boost fitness improvements further by aligning youth club activities more effectively with physical activity interests of the young people
Confidence
14 young people (21.21%) stated that they felt more confident and had better self esteem due to attending youth club indicating the following insights
1.Youth club's activities and environment effective in boosting self-esteem and assurance.
2.Youth workers are seen as trusted adults who young people feel supported by

Create and normalise an environment where individuals feel supported in voicing opinions, asking for support and taking initiative in social settings
